How to Play ADC in SMITE (Season 3 Update)

Should you be an ADC?

If you want to play as an ADC, you need to be able to land your basic attacks consistently, know when to attack and when to run, and you need to be able to box with another person that can do as much damage as you.

If you answered yes, keep reading.  If you don’t know what position you want to play or if you want to try ADC anyway keep reading. If not try another Role Guide or keep reading for fun, I would.

What is an ADC?
ADC stands for Attack Damage Carry, they are mostly hunter’s with some exceptions, and their main job is to farm, survive, get kills here and there, until late game when their ATTACK DAMAGE is so high they can CARRY the team. See what I did there? Moving on…..

What do ADC’s Build?
Basic Build:
   When your building as an ADC you need to always keep in mind that you are the damage dealer for your team and you need to hit hard and fast. That's why in this build I focus on attack speed, power, and penetration. Once you spawn in, get Tier 2 Transcendence 1 health pot and 1 mana pot, a relic depending on the situation and head to lane.

Transcendence
   To start the build I buy Transcendence so that I don't have to worry about my mana as much, and it lets me start stacking early. Transcendence gives you mana as you stack it and its passive gives power for 3% of your maximum mana. AKA this gives 66 power just off the mana it gives you. This gives your early power and just gets better over time.

Warrior Tabi   Then I get Warrior's Tabi to get more power so that I can hit harder and increased movement speed to move around the map faster and to be more mobile during a fight.

Asi   Then I build Asi to get lifesteal online, be able to sustain in fights longer, to increase my attack speed, and to have penetration online. The reason that I get this item over other lifesteal like Devourer's Gauntlet is because Asi's passive gives you an additional 25% lifesteal for 5s if you get under 35% health (can only happen once every 15s). This lets you recover and get back to team fights quicker because you can just clear a jungle camp and get back most of your health without wasting time to back and then running back with your team.

Qin's Sais   I then build Qin Sai's to get more power, attack speed and penetration (kinda). Qin's doesn't give you direct penetrations instead Qin's passive lets you deal 4% of the gods maximum health with each basic attack you land. This lets you shred through tanks even if they have protections and if you fight a god that didn't build defensive or health...they die..really fast.

   This is the basis of my build with most ADC and I like where the build is at this point, but from here your last 2 items are mostly situational. The finished build below is a good general build that I have been using on ADC's and doing well with.

Hastened Fatalis   Hastened Fatalis is an item that I really like because it gives you attack speed, movement speed and its passive reduces the movement speed penalty for using basics when you're moving (Hastened allows you to move and basic at your full movement speed.)

Titan's Bane  To finish the build we get Titan's Bane, why? Because you hit harder and you hit so hard you break armor..kinda..ok not really but you get 33% penetration to all of your attacks. This lets you go through both gods, and objectives. AKA this will help you end lives and break things.

Alternative Items

Jotunn's WrathIf You Need CDR:  Jotunn's Wrath can be useful if you are using a hunter that uses their abilities to deal most of their damage and you need shorter cooldowns. This also gives you power, pen and mana and can be a decent item to pick up.

Brawler's Beat Stick

If The Enemy Has Healer: Brawler's Beat Stick is a good item to get if the enemy team has a healer or a lot of self heals. Its passive reduces all enemies healing by 40% if you hit them with an ability and last for 8s.  This also gives you power and penetration to help hit harder and is a good pick up when the situation fits.

Relics:
  The relics I get honestly depends on the enemy team comp. Honestly it depends on how I think I can get killed, if I think their team's CC will have me standing still for 3 hours then I get beads, if I think that I will get killed so fast that I don't even noticed I died, I get Aegis, other wise I get sprint because it can help me run away from the enemy team like a chicken or run at them like a very angry chicken and get the kill. For your second active I recommend getting one of the actives above that can help you get out of a bad situation. Again which one depends on the enemies team composition.

What do I do as an ADC?

Early Game:
      Start off by going to damage camp to buff your mid lane, then move with you support to get the Attack Speed buff for yourself. Head to lane and basically just try and maintain lane presence, kill the enemy minion waves, poke your enemies if you can, and DON'T DIE!!! Farm, farm, farm and get to level five.

Mid Game:
Once you get to level five the game changes because now, as you push your lane you can have to watch out for the enemy jungler more often and rotations in general. As an ADC your job is to get a full build as quickly as possible so you need to be extra careful about getting ganked as you rotate. In team fights avoid getting focused and until you are comfortable in team fights and with the God you're using. DON’T USE YOUR ESCAPE AGGRESSIVELY this is their jump,dash, leap etc. Use it as an escape AKA use it as you “I did not just run away screaming like a little girl ”ability. You are your teams damage dealer to hit the enemy team in the face with you basics for crits or abilities for extra range and get kills.

Late Game:
This is when your team is finishing off their builds and team fights/objectives are your main focus. As an ADC depending on your God you might be able to solo a tower or Gold Fury if you have a good part of you build done and if you are comfortable with it. When it comes to late game team fights, just stay near your team, don’t get focused or swallowed, land your basics, have your actives ready, communicate with your team and know when to cut your loses and fall back because losing teammates late game can cause a comeback.

Tips for ADC:
  • Be really good at hitting your basic attacks.
  • If you solo a tower, go with minions and kill the tower fast.
  • If you solo GF make sure you watch the map and ward in the area around you.
  • When, you build is finished with actives buy power pots or wards and ward everywhere that you think enemies might be.
  • Being ahead is being on track, being even is being behind, being behind is an opportunity for a comeback.
  • Split pushing is a viable strategy for ADC's but make sure your team knows what you are doing and you either have wards, or are very aware of your surroundings.

Skadi God Guide

Goddess of Winter
Overview: Skadi is a Norse Huntress and is the first goddess in SMITE to have a controllable pet, and introduces a new form of CC. She is a lot of fun to use and can be very strong once you learn how to position her and use Kaldr effectively. Skadi's Passive: Her wolf, Kaldr fights by her side and can be sent to attack enemies or stay by her side to heal up.
Skadi's 1:A line attack that does damage and slows enemies.Kaldr does 2x damage to enemies hit by this.
Skadi's 2: Switches Kaldr between Beast(Attack) and Elemental (regen) form.
Skadi's 3: AOE attack that does damage,tick damage and causes enemy gods to slide uncontrollably

Skadi's Ult: An AOE tick damage around Skadi and Kaldr that roots upon activation, restores Kaldr to full health, and makes him invincible for 5s and does damage ever 0.5s.

Abilities:

1. Kalr,The Winter Wolf (Passive)

Kaldr fights by Skadi's side in either 1 of 2 forms. In beast form he can attack and be attacked. In elemental form he can't take damage and can regen health. You can switch his form with Skadi's Rune of the Hunt but if he loses all of his HP he is forced back into elemental form.

  • Ability Type: Summon Pet
  • Hit Points: 5
  • Time to Regen 1 HP: 10s
  • Attack Speed: 50% of Skadi’s
  • Movement Speed: 110% of Skadi’s
  • Lane Minion Damage: 1 HP lost per 5 hits.
  • Other Source Damage: 1 HP lost from any attack or ability
2. Piercing Cold

Skadi throws an icy spear dealing damage and slowing enemies for 3s. Kaldr's basic attacks
deal double damage to enemies hit by Piercing Cold. This is your main wave clear and can slow enemies that try to escape a fight.

  • Ability: Line
  • Damage: 90/140/190/240/290 (+80% of you physical power)
  • Slow: 20/25/30/35/40%
  • Cost: 70/75/80/85/90
  • Cooldown: 15s
3. Rune of the Hunt

A toggle ability that lets Skadi mark an enemy for Kaldr to hunt. When it is on Kadlr turns switches to beast mode attacking the marked enemy, if the enemy dies Kaldr attack will then attack a nearby enemy. When toggled off Kaldr stops attacking returning to Skadi's side changing to elemental form on the way. This ability is usable at rank 0 and gives Kaldr extra bonuses as it ranks up.
Good ability to initiate when an enemy is low or to finish off a kill if they run under tower.

  • Ability: Pet Command
  • Damage: 60/80/80/100/100% of Skadi's Basic Attack Damage
  • Rank 1: Kaldr gains a dash attack.
  • Rank 3: Kaldr’s kills heal him.
  • Rank 5: Kaldr’s attacks give Skadi 10% increased movement speed.
  • Cooldown: 5s

4. Permafrost

Skadi freezes the ground for 5s. The area deals damage to any god that touch it and as they     stay on it every 0.5s. It causes the enemy gods to lose control of their god and slide across the ice. Skadi's movement is increased by 25% while standing on the area. This is the closest thing you have to an escape and should be used as such but it can also be used to disrupt the enemy team or just throw them off balance for a kill plus it does a lot of damage.

  • Ability: Ground Target
  • Damage: 70/100/130/160/190 (+60% of your physical power)
  • Damage per Tick: 5/10/15/20/25 (+5% of your physical power)
  • Radius: 16/18/20/22/24
  • Cost: 70/75/80/85/90
  • Cooldown: 18s

5.Winter's Grasp
Snowstorms surround Skadi and Kaldr. When activated enemies in range get rooted and Kaldr becomes full health. The storm last for 5s and deals damage to enemies every 0.5s and makes Kadlr immune to damage. This is amazing to use if you want to send Kaldr for kills.
  • Ability: Stim
  • Damage Per Tick: 10/20/30/40/50 (+5% of your physical power)
  • Root Duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2s
  • Radius: 20
  • Cost: 80/90/00/110/120 mana
  • Cooldown: 90s
How Do I Build Skadi?
   When I've played Skadi, I've wanted to take full advantage of Kaldr and his stats while also trying to make up for her lack of mobility. To do this To start off I build Tier 2 of transcendence, 3 health and 3 mana pots.

Credit to ELITE OWNAGE for the App Used in the Image

Transcendence
   To start the build I buy Transcendence so that I don't have to worry about my mana as much, and it lets me start stacking early. Transcendence gives you mana as you stack it and its passive gives power for 3% of your maximum mana. AKA this gives 66 power just off the mana it gives you.

   This is the basis of my build with Skadi and I like where the build is at this point, but from there I don't know which build is the best for her. As of right now I have 2 builds that you can try, if they work then cool if they don't....use the other build.

Credit to ELITE OWNAGE for the App Used in the Image
   This version of the final build allows her to be more mobile as she attacks and gives her lower cooldowns so that she use the slows and CC in her kit to help her escape.

Hastened Fatalis
   To make up for her lack of mobility and compliment this attack speed build, I buy Hastened Fatalis. When you are fighting this lets you out box enemies because passive lets you use basic attack while moving and reduces the movement penalty* as long as you hit your shots it will reduce the attacking and moving penalty .

Jotunn's Wrath   To finish this build off I bought Jotunn's Wrath to get the cooldown reduction so that I could take advantage of Permafrost and Winter Grasp more often. The power penetration and mana that this items just compliments and makes Skadi even more lethal.

Credit to ELITE OWNAGE for the App Used in the Image
   For my alternative build this uses the mentality of Season 2 and uses Crits to hit enemies so fast and do so much damage that you kill them first and the lifesteal in your build keeps your health from getting to low.

Rage   Rage gives you a higher crit chance not only giving you base 20% chance to crit but it's passive that increase your chance by 10% if you don't land a crit. This can stack 6 times and resets when you get a crit.

Deathbringer   Death Bringer stays true to its name by giving you +50 power and  +20% crit chance and if you crit its passive increases critical damage by 40%. AKA Death Bringer is a Bringer of Death.

What Do I Do As Skadi?/Tips

  • If you need to get out of a situation using Permafrost (your 3) either in front of you will give a +25% movement speed if you are on top of it and cause enemies to slide uncontrollably.
  • Don't be afraid to use Kaldr.
  • It takes about a minute for Kaldr to get to full health after he dies if he stays in elemental form.
  • Use Kaldr on towers, and objectives
  • Remember that your ult last for 5s does damage every 0.5s and during that time Kaldr is invincible so tell him Bite something.
  • Kaldr gets 50% of your attack speed and 110% of your movement speed so how you build controls how he acts.

Summary:

   Skadi is an incredibly fun god to play, she can do a lot of damage and controlling Kaldr adds a new aspect to her that hasn't been done in SMITE before. She can be fun and easy to use, but she is very easy to gank. The main things you need to understand with her is that she and Kaldr can do a lot of damage but only if you use them correctly. Using your 1 makes Kaldr do 2x damage, your ult restores him to full health and makes him invincible for 5s. Remember that your 3 is the closest thing you have to an escape and increases your movement speed by 25%, use this when all hell breaks lose and I don't mean the mage. Alright guys that's all I have so for so good luck, and have fun playing as Skadi the Goddess of Winter.

How Do I Build A God?

1.Shoes/Boots Should be a Part of Your Build.

    Some form of shoes/boots should be a part of your build no matter what gamemode or god you are playing. They give 18% movement speed which you will notice immediately and give you decent power along with other stat increases.

2.You Are Only as Tanky As You Build

This is a general tank build that can work well for me. Mark of the Vanguard is sold late game for a situational item depending on the other team's composition.
   Guardians and warriors are naturally  tankier than mages, hunters and assassins but tank items help reinforce their natural stats.

3. Tanks need Physical AND Magical Protection, AND HP.

As you can see in this build Spirit Robe and Hide of the Urchin give you both magical and physical protection. At the same time, Bulwark gives additional magical and Breastplate gives you additional physical. This build also give you max cooldown reduction, a good amount of health and CC reduction.
   If you are going to be tanky or a bruiser then you need to have magical and physical defense. Another good stat to include in a tanky build is HP, and HP5 is a good stat for gods that have heals.

4.Penetration is A Must
This is what Penetration  can do to protection.

   Penetration is a necessary and important part of every build that lets you do more damage to towers, gods and objectives because you penetrate their protections.

5.Start With A Starter

   In game modes like Conquest, Clash or Siege buying a starter item will help you get through early game and then still help until you sell it off late game.

If you are a jungler Bumba's Mask is a must.

6.Mages And Hunters Get Stacks on Stacks On Stacks

  Mages and Hunters can buy items that stack to give them increasing stats that will help once they are bought and then get better as you build more stacks.
  Usually you build these items 3rd or 4th to get them to full stacks as quickly as possible

7. Build To Your Role

ADC,Support, Mid, Jungle, Solo

   How you build depends on your role, in general ADC build damage and attack speed, Mid build damage and cooldown, supports build protection and health, solo laners, build bruiser with damage and protections, and jungler build either damage or crits depenging on who they are.

8. Hit Your Targets

Just make sure that what you hit you hit multiple times.
   Items that require multiple hits to be at their maximum effectiveness like Executioner or Spear of the Magus are very strong items but only if you can insure that you will get the maximum amount of stacks. For example Spear of the Magus works best on gods like Anubis, Poseidon and gods that have attacks that do multiple hits.

9. Finish What  Your Started

Don't Build Like this
   When you are building an item it is better to finish building 1 item fully until before you buy another item unless you absolutely need the other item. Finishing the first item will be more cost effective and more effective in a fight.

How To Use VGS in SMITE (PS4)

To use VGS Click Right on the D Pad  To use VGS Click Right on the Directional Pad. Then You Have These are your general categories for communication. From here we will only go over the most important commands for tactics and at the end we will see the more social commands. First I will go over the commands and after each section  explain what they mean and when to use them.

Start By Pressing Right on the D-Pad Then..
    Square = Emote
Fun ways to communicate and show personal flare with a character.
Triangle = Talk
General communication with your team but in a more social and friendly way
Circle = MIA (Missing)
One of the most important call outs to make. This lets your team know that the enemy in your lane (enemy mid laner if you are in mid etc.) is not in lane with you and to keep an eye out for them. This should be used every time the enemy that should be in your lane isn’t there, if they still aren’t there after a minion wave then call missing again.
X = Attack
This lets you team know that they should attack and tells them that you are about to attack and puts you on the same page as them
R1 = Tactics
Under the Tactics Menu you have the options for Gank, Help, Ward and Defend.

Square = Gank
Gank basically means go for the kill and is used when you are making a rotation to a teammates lane and lets your team in lane know to be aggressive and that you have their back. This is an important call out to know so that you don't sneak up behind an enemy and then die because your team didn't know what you wanted them to do.
Triangle = Help
When things hit the fan, call for help or if you see on the map that a specific lane is getting pushed, telling them to "Help ___ lane" lets your jungler know which lane he needs to focus on ganking/pushing.
Circle =  Ward
Wards are a vital part of SMITE because it lets your team know when the enemy jungler is going to gank them, it gives you a heads up on rotations, and it can tell you when enemies are going for objectives. If see a lot of ganks in specific lane or area telling your teammates to ward near that area can save a teammates life.
X  = Defend
This means to go and defend a lane/objective. This is mostly used for when your team is not defending a lane/ the enemy is pushing a lane and no one is near it or when you think an enemy is trying to sneak an objective.

Endings =
With each and everyone of the Commands I’ve shown you after you have entered the general command you need to add an ending so say which lane you are talking about:

Square = Left Lane
Triangle = Middle Lane
Circle = Right Lane
X   = Objectives

Objective =
If you need to tell them to attack, defend, ward etc. an objective then after you hit X you need to enter one more Command.

Square = Fire Giant
Triangle = The Titans
Circle =  Gold Fury

Some Example =
If you want to say attack right lane = Right, X, Circle.
Defend the Fire Giant = Right, R1, X, Square

Other Useful Command:
Here you can find the more social VGS that are used to just be a good teammate, friendly and make the game more fun.
